Things to Think About When Designing a Pantry:

Illumination.
As a typical pantry is likely to have no windows at all, it deserves to have a proper illumination system – or else you’ll have to spend hours inside before you find whatever it is you wanted to pick up in the first place. For pantry illuminating, we suggest installing LED lighting, that’s both energy efficient and able to serve you for a long time. Remember to place the light switch in an easy to access and reachable spot. Door.
The shape and opening way of your door are very important to be determined right at the planning stage, or else later it might get in the way of your other doors, cabinets or whatever stands in their way.
The two best options when it comes to a pantry, which is naturally a room designed as a free storage space room, are sliding doors or outward-opening doors. Both these options need no space left for them in the pantry while obviously the outward-opening doors need some outside.

Height.
High pantries are a very popular choice, as using the space available to you all the way to the ceiling is usually a smart thing to do – however, that calls for additional measures you have to take for your pantry to be convenient to use.
If your pantry will be a spacious one, then there is no problem in keeping an ordinary ladder around to be used – it’s best of its a ladder on sliding rails which will be attached to the shelves. Such a ladder won’t flip so you do not risk an accident when you use it. Also, keep in mind to store only the infrequently needed items on the top shelves, and keep your everyday necessities on the lower shelves.
In the case of a smaller pantry, a way better choice would be a step ladder, hidden somewhere around to be used when needed – ideally one that can be folded, so it uses as little space as possible.

Placement.
It’s absolutely crucial where your pantry will actually be. Think carefully about the proper place for your pantry to be in, because that’s going to decide whether your pantry is actually helpful at all, making your kitchen life a breeze, or if it will do you more harm than good, ruining the experience.

Shelves.
Think about special sizes for some of your shelves, so they can accommodate all the different shapes of your tools. Be it your juicer or just some extraordinarily big pots, it’s unlikely that they will fit an ordinary shelve. Make a list of such items, and then design separate shelves of custom sizes solely for storing these very items.

Floor.
While it won’t be visible for your guests, you will not only be walking on that floor, carrying a more or less heavy load but also sometimes you’ll be forced to use the ladder.
Your pantry flooring has to be of the kind that protects you from sliding and flipping. It’s also good to use something rather sturdy, because if you accidently push something off the higher shelves, your ceramic tiles could easily break.
